Premier League clash

  •                                       C. Austin 24, 48                             J. Lescott 10, Slivestre varela 20

Sessegnon almost carved an opening for the visitors as he ran at Hill but his pass was just behind Ideye. Vargas went up the other end and picked out Austin with a long pass. The striker took it on his chest and tried to feed Zamora but Lescott was able to clear.
  • 60'
Sessegnon is not happy with Hill. Having conceded a free-kick the QPR man kicks out at the former Sunderland player who is on the floor but referee Pawson sees no problem and keeps his cards in his pocket.
  • 58'
It's been another average display from Ideye today. Following his chance early on he has not been involved in the game and you wonder how long it will be before Irvine decides to introduce Saido Berahino to the action.
  • 56'
West Brom were in a good position as Varela received the ball wide left and played in a cross however referee Craig Pawson blows up for an off the ball foul. Gardner had impeded Vargas.
  • 54'
For a second Austin thought he was through to finish off his hat-trick. A long ball by Hill finds the striker who races through on goal but the assistants flag is up for offside.
  • 52'
West Brom have a corner that Pocognoli takes. Green comes out to claim but lets the ball slip through his fingers for another corner. However it is cleared by Caulker who rises high in the box to head away.
  • 50'
Joey Barton goes down in the area under a challenge from Morrison but the appeals for a penalty are waved away. West Brom go up the other end and Wisdom has a chance to test Green but his effort is blocked by Hill.
  • 48'
    Assist B. Zamora

    48'
    Goal Charlie Austin
  • 48'
It all started with a corner. Dunne won the header and must have thought he'd scored but Foster tipped it on to the crossbar. The ball fell into the box where Zamora headed it across the face of goal for Austin to poke home.
  • 47'
GOAL!!! QPR are level and it's Austin again.
  • 45'
QPR get the second half started. There are no changes for either side following the interval.
  • QPR have had few chances to get level as they struggled to get things going in the opening half. Austin and Vargas have both had efforts from distance but nothing to really test Foster. The home side will be thankful for Green who has kept the score at 2-1. The goalkeeper has made two good saves to deny Gardner and Sessegnon.
  • It has been an entertaining first half at Loftus Road. The visitors stormed into a two goal lead after twenty minutes as Lescott and Varela grabbed their first league goals for West Brom. QPR got back into the game as Austin converted a penalty following a foul from Morrison on Fer.
  • HALF TIME: QPR 1-2 West Brom.
  • 45' + 2'
Free-kick to QPR as Vargas is fouled by Morrison. The free-kick is fired up field and drops to Vargas who hits his volley towards goal. Austin tries to improvise with a back heel but only succeeds in diverting it into Foster's hands.
  • 45'
Gardner plays a long ball down the right flank for Sessegnon to collect however the winger is beaten to the ball by Green and the keeper sends the ball high into the stands. West Brom are on the front foot as the first half comes toward an end.
  • 44'
Austin fires over the bar. The ball was bobbling around outside the West Brom area and it fell to Austin. The Englishman allowed the ball to run across his body before trying to place in into the corner with his right foot. But it goes over the bar.
  • 42'
Onuoha is getting forward a lot from right-back leaving Dunne exposed on the counter attack. The Republic of Ireland man has already been booked and will have to be careful going in to challenges later in the game.
  • 40'
ANOTHER SAVE BY GREEN!!! The goalkeeper produces a fantastic save to stop Sessegnon making it three. The wide man collected the ball on the touch line and unleashed a fierce effort from the right side of the area. Green threw up his left hand and tipped it over.
  • 39'
    Yellow Card Richard Dunne
  • 38'
It's been an entertaining opening half here at Loftus Road with both teams looking to pass the ball around. Richard Dunne gets booked for a late challenge on Varela and gives West Brom the chance to play another ball in to the box.
  • 36'
The visitors look to set up another quick counter however Morrison's pass was behind Varela and it allowed the QPR defence to regroup. The Portuguese player's cross was easily cleared by Caulker.
  • 34'
Save by Green. Gardner's free-kick took a deflection off the wall and almost wrong footed the English keeper. However he was able to readjust his feet and tip the ball over the bar.
  • 32'
Free-kick to West Brom in a dangerous area. Henry is penalised for a foul on Morrison, he had no intention of going for the ball as he grappled with the West Brom player just outside the box.

    SubstitutionSuk-Young YoonClint Hill
  • 30'
Chance for Austin. The in form striker is full of confidence and unleashes an effort from just outside of the box. His effort is hit hard but it is straight at Foster who saves comfortably.
  • 28'
The home side have upped the anti following their goal. Their passing is faster and their movement is better however they are forced into an early change as Suk-Young comes off for Hill.
  • 26'
The volume inside Loftus Road has risen considerably as the home side get back into the game. There is an interesting ten minutes ahead as West Brom look to hold onto their slender one goal lead.
  • 24'
    Penalty Goal Charlie Austin
It was Leroy Fer who was pulled down by James Morrison following a poor attempt at a punch by Foster. Austin stepped up and blasted the ball into the bottom left to take his tally to nine for the season.
  • 24'
GOAL!! Charlie Austin converts from the spot to make it 2-1.
  • 23'
    PENALTY TO QPR!!
  • 22'
The pace and trickery of Varela and Sessegnon has caused many problems for the home side and are the main reason for the Baggies having this early lead. QPR have a corner as they look to hit back.
  • 20'
    Assist Stéphane Sessegnon
  • 20'
    Goal Silvestre Varela
He had been looking dangerous and Varela has got himself on the score sheet. It's a classic counter attack by the visitors. The winger picked the ball up on the half way line and ran at Dunne, he played a delightful one-two with Sessegnon and slid the ball underneath Green to double the lead.
  • 19'
    GOAL!!! 2-0 WEST BROM.
  • 17'
The home side are beginning to look more of a threat in attack as they grow into this game. They are still yet to test Ben Foster in the Albion goal but Austin and Zamora are beginning to see more of the ball.
  • 15'
The absence of Mauricio Isla looks to be a problem early on for the home side as Nedum Onuoha does not look very comfortable at right-back. FC Porto loanee Silvestre Varela is finding space down the left for the visitors but so far it has come to nothing as they look to capitalise on the space between Dunne and Onuoha.
  • 13'
Bobby Zamora offers up a big physical presence every time he steps on to the pitch but early on the West Brom central defenders are coping with him well. A few long balls have been aimed in the strikers direction but so far Lescott and McAuley have looked composed.
  • 11'
QPR's passing has been very wayward early on and Harry Redknapp is far from happy. The visitors are looking very comfortable as they continue to pass the ball well and the home crowd are beginning to get restless.
  • 10'
    Assist Stéphane Sessegnon
  • 10'
    Goal Joleon Lescott
You can't say it hasn't been coming. Joleon Lescott has got his first goal since his summer move from Manchester City. Pocognoli took the corner and Sessegnon, who has looked lively early on, got the flick on to the defender who thumped his header past Green.
  • 9'
    GOAL WEST BROM!!!! 1-0.
  • 7'
ANOTHER CHANCE FOR THE VISITORS! Sessegnon again down the right. He runs at Yun Suk-Young and beats the right-back for pace. His low cross finds Brown Ideye who peeled away from Richard Dunne but the record signing skied his first time effort.
  • 5'
QPR's passing has been poor in the opening stages and are yet to test the West Brom back line. The visitors have made a positive start to the game and that is sure to please Head Coach Alan Irvine.
  • 3'
SAVE BY ROBERT GREEN! Sessegnon fired in a low cross under pressure from Karl Henry. The ball fell into the path of the oncoming Craig Gardner who struck it first time with his right foot but Green was able to parry.
  • 1'
West Brom get us underway here kicking from right to left in their away strip of all red. QPR are in their usual home kit. An early misplaced pass by Leroy Fer who gives the ball to Stephane Sessegnon and the visitors have a corner
