Premier League night clash

  • 61'
The hosts are looking very careless in possession. They continue to give it away in their own end as they fail to alleviate the pressure on their goal. Mirallas concedes a corner, which Mutch heads off Naismith and behind, as the ball remains in and around the Everton penalty area.

Harry Redknapp has finally decide enough is enough, as he brings on Bobby Zamora for Matt Phillips. The striker should provide them with more of a threat in the centre and give Jagielka and Distin a bit more to think about.
  • 57'
Everton have gone to sleep a bit as they allow QPR to apply the pressure. The visitors work the ball around well in the attacking third, as Mutch is played into the area. He sends a tasty cross into the centre, but again no one is attacking it for them as the chance goes begging.
  • 55'
Hoilett continues to look dangerous going forward, as he takes another pass on the left before taking on defenders en route to the top of the area. He cuts onto his right and tries to beat Howard at the near post, but his shot rolls wide.

    Goal Steven Naismith
It all stems from a horrendous clearance from Robert Green. He scuffs the ball high into the air and Dunne fails to deal with it. This allows Everton to get back in possession and McGeady slips into the area before crossing in for Naismith at the far post. The striker is left unmarked as he heads past Green.

NAISMITH! THREE NOTHING TO EVERTON WHO ARE CERTAINLY IN THE CLEAR NOW!

Careless play from Everton in their own half as QPR win the ball and break with pace through Hoilett. The winger takes on Distin before sending a dangerous cross into the area, but Jagielka just leaps high enough to head behind for a corner. Dunne puts an effort over the bar on the ensuing chance, resulting in a goal kick.
  • 50'
STAT ATTACK: QPR have allowed 86 shots on target this season – the highest total in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Robert Green is forced into making a save once every 23 minutes, also a league high.
  • 48'
NO PENALTY GIVEN! Superb work from Besic in his own half to win the ball back twice, before springing Mirallas into space on the left. The Belgian surges past Dunne and into the area, but passes up a shooting chance before going to ground. There was little contact, and Swarbrick immediately waved away claims for a penalty as the chance comes to nothing.
  • 46'
Everton get the second half underway, with no changes to tell you about from either side. Harry Redknapp's patience will likely be wearing thin, and his side should have no more than 15 minutes or so to try and sort this mess out before he starts making his changes.
  • QPR do have Bobby Zamora waiting in the wings, and could elect to bring the striker on for a central midfielder like Jordan Mutch, switching to a 4-4-2 as they are forced to chase this game in the second half. Niko Kranjcar is also available for them, with the Croatian providing a creative spark in attack.
  • HALF TIME: EVERTON 2-0 QPR. The hosts have looked far from convincing in the first half, but have a seemingly insurmountable lead thanks to strikes from Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas, which could very well become an own goal. The visitors have been able to ask questions of Everton at the back, but are just lacking that final ball at the moment, and perhaps the influence of Charlie Austin as well. It will be difficult for them to salvage something from this match, as the second goal shortly before the break may very well have put the Toffees out of reach
